Introducing the Zebra MC3330xR and MC3390xR

Zebra has now offered an upgrade to these handheld readers, offering much more value for roughly the same price. Introducing the MC3330xR and the MC3390xR handheld RFID readers, some of the most advanced readers available.

Zebra have updated a range of features to improve performance with the MC3330xR and the MC3390xR. These readers come with a much newer version of Android, upgrading from Android 7.0 to Android 10, which is faster and more familiar for new users. To improve speed and eliminate lag, the processor has been upgraded from a 1.8 GHz Qualcomm 8056 to a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm 660 processor.

The battery capacity has also had a significant upgrade, from the 5,200 mAh battery in the MC3300R series to a 7,000 mAh battery, reducing the need for recharging and ensuring the battery will last the whole shift. On top of this, these readers now have NFC reading capability, enabling tap to pair functionality with Zebra’s ring scanners and mobile printers and tap to authenticate applications.

The MC3300xR Series seamlessly fits into your existing RFID reader ecosystem. The accessories are backwards compatible with the MC3300R series, reducing the need to replace so much equipment. These readers also use the same SDK as all of Zebra’s handheld RFID readers, so there’s no need to rewrite your applications.

With all these added benefits and upgrades, you would expect a significant price increase. But the list prices for the MC3330xR and MC3390R are 6% higher and 2% lower than their predecessors, respectively. The below table breaks down the key advantages from this latest upgrade.
